Course of Study

The core educational program at RAI Digital Charter High is a college preparatory course of study that meets the requirements for admission to the California State University (CSU) and the University of California (UC) systems. Core classes in English, mathematics, science, and history-social science utilize an advanced placement format in alignment with the school’s goals and philosophy of what it means to be an educated citizen in the 21 st century.

To receive a diploma from RAI, students must have been continuously enrolled in the charter school for at least one full year and have satisfactorily completed all courses with a grade of “C” or better. Students enrolled in five or more courses are considered to be full-time students.

The prescribed course of study for students in grades 6-8 shall include one period each day of Reading-Language Arts, Mathematics (general mathematics in 6th grade, pre-algebra in 7th, and Algebra in 8th grade), Science/Health, History-Social Science, physical education, and one elective for a total of six periods Monday through Friday.

All students graduating from the RAI Digital Charter High must earn a minimum of 235 credits during grades 9-12. The prescribed course of study for students in grades 9-12 shall include:
